Updated 23 July 2026 · 2026/27 rates apply from April 2026 · weekly unless stated otherwise
Most benefit rates rose by 3.8% in April 2026, in line with the September 2025 inflation figure. A few didn't - the ESA components stayed frozen, and the Universal Credit health element was restructured for new claims. Everything below is taken from the DWP's official rates document, not rounded or estimated.
| Component | 2025/26 | 2026/27 |
|---|---|---|
| Daily living - standard | £73.90 | £76.70 |
| Daily living - enhanced | £110.40 | £114.60 |
| Mobility - standard | £29.20 | £30.30 |
| Mobility - enhanced | £77.05 | £80.00 |
Both enhanced rates together add up to £194.60 a week - a little over £10,100 a year, tax-free. Adult Disability Payment in Scotland pays the same amounts.
PIP isn't means-tested and can be paid on top of work, ESA, UC or a pension. For how awards are actually calculated, PIPexpert's guide to how much you'll get walks through the points system.
| Rate | 2025/26 | 2026/27 |
|---|---|---|

| Higher rate (help day and night, or terminal illness) | £110.40 | £114.60 |
Attendance Allowance mirrors the PIP daily living rates but has no mobility component - one of the reasons timing matters if you're close to State Pension age. See what changes at State Pension age.

| Element | 2025/26 | 2026/27 |
|---|---|---|
| Personal allowance (main phase) | £92.05 | £95.55 |
| Support component | £48.50 | £48.50 |
| Work-related activity component | £36.55 | £36.55 |
Both components were frozen this year - only the personal allowance rose. Support group total: £144.05 a week.
| Element | 2025/26 | 2026/27 |
|---|---|---|
| Standard allowance - single, under 25 | £316.98 | £338.58 |
| Standard allowance - single, 25 or over | £400.14 | £424.90 |
| Standard allowance - couple, both under 25 | £497.55 | £528.34 |
| Standard allowance - couple, 25 or over | £628.10 | £666.97 |
| LCW element (limited capability for work) | £158.76 | £158.76 |
| LCWRA element - claims starting from April 2026 | £423.27 | £217.26 |
| LCWRA element - pre-2026 claims, severe conditions criteria or terminal illness | £423.27 | £429.80 |
| Carer element | £201.68 | £209.34 |
| Disabled child addition - lower | £158.76 | £164.79 |
| Disabled child addition - higher | £495.87 | £514.71 |
The big change this year is the LCWRA element: the standard allowance got an above-inflation rise, but the health element was roughly halved for claims that start from April 2026. Existing claimants, people meeting the severe conditions criteria and people who are terminally ill keep the higher amount. The rules around this are exactly what ESAexpert covers, including the Work Capability Assessment that decides LCW and LCWRA - a different test from PIP's.
